A filk of "One Tin Soldier."

This parody of One Tin Soldier (Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, 1969) is protected as such by the copyright laws of the United States of America.

The title refers to Horus guards, the guys with the pop-up helmets. It helps if you've seen "Absolute Power." The final outcome is pure speculation.

Listen, Tauri, to a story
That transpired in an AU,
'Bout a secret in a mountain
And a Russian folk with nukes.

In the mountain was a stargate
Buried deep within the stone,
And the Russian people swore
They'd have one for their very own.

Go ahead and nuke your neighbors,
Use and then betray your friends,
Do it with the help of Daniel,
You can justify your means with ends.
There won't be any wormholes glowing
Come deployment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One brass Horus strides away.

So the people of Ma Russia
Sent a message to the hill,
Asking for their technobabble -
Naqahdah for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the Air Force,
"With our comrades we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the info we find there."

Go ahead and nuke your neighbors,
Use and then betray your friends,
Do it with the help of Daniel,
You can justify your means with ends.
There won't be any wormholes glowing
Come deployment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One brass Horus strides away.

Now the Russians cried with anger,
"Prime your missiles! Defcon 4!"
And they nuked the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the stargate,
From the mountain disinterred -
Dialed the gate and looked beyond it...
"Jaffa kree!" was all they heard.

Go ahead and nuke your neighbors,
Use and then betray your friends,
Do it with the help of Daniel,
You can justify your means with ends.
There won't be any wormholes glowing
Come deployment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One brass Horus strides away.

Go ahead and nuke your neighbors,
Use and then betray your friends,
Do it with the help of Daniel,
You can justify your means with ends.
There won't be any wormholes glowing
Come deployment day,
On the bloody morning after....
One brass Horus strides away.
